Kids Maker Lab is a Public Benefit Corporation established in 2016 by serial entrepreneurs Andre and Thuy Kay to give kids the best tools to create future technologies to solve global problems through the pursuit of curiosity and creativity.
We were founded on the core beliefs that kids of today will grow up to solve problems faster, better and more precisely than any prior generations or artificial intelligence because they will grow up as a maker. We’re creating the successors of the most brilliant minds of our existing and past generations.
What is a Public Benefit Corporation:
Benefit Corporations are for-profit companies that are obligated to consider the impact of their decisions on society, not only shareholders. We decided to incorporate as a B Corp because we’re obsessed with our mission. We believe in building a mission-driven company that will meet a higher standard of purpose, accountability, and transparency. This will create a solid foundation for long-term mission alignment and value creation for Kids Maker Lab.
The Problem
Problems: Schools of Today Are Training Kids for a World That Doesn’t Exist.
National: Without access to quality early education, African-American and Latino children, and children from low-income families are far less likely to be prepared for the future.
Global: In September 2015, 193 world leaders agreed to 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development. If these Goals are completed, it would mean an end to extreme poverty, inequality and climate change by 2030. Our governments have a plan to save our planet. It’s our job to make sure we have the people to do it.
The Solution
We will replace “Memory-based learning” with our patent pending E3 (Exploration, Exponential and Experimental) maker learning program. The E3 program is a combination of Super Sessions, Educational Products, Videos, Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality software and hardware.
